We have just returned home from the epic Blue element 2019 Freedive competition in Dominica. The event is run by Jonathan Sunnex and Sofia Gomez Uribe and as usual has been a spectacular success. The competition ran form the 20-28th November in the beautiful bay of Soufriere in Dominica, the Caribbean’s nature island. The smooth running of the event with its tremendous safety team headed up by Louisa Collyns,   took place in the perfect conditions that the island has to offer. The water is 29 degrees, no thermocline, no currents, no waves- making it the perfect place to deep dive. The athletes all did so well with several national records falling and more personal bests than we could count. Our Georgina Miller was super happy to come home with a 5th place over all and a personal best in competition of 62m constant weight. As usual the event was beautifully documented by Daan Verhoeven, who took some absolutely stunning pictures. You can read all about it here on Deeper Blue, and see the fantastic videos of the event on Blue elements face book page.
