Who is it for?

This second level course is for holders of Level 1 Certifications; SSI Level 1/ PADI Advanced Freediver/ AIDA 2 star. You need at least 6 logged dive sessions before you begin, we recommend that you are comfortable diving in the 15- 20m range to get the most from this course. You can always take some coached diving before hand if its been a while since you last free dived to depth.

Outline

This advanced Freediving course will equip you with further knowledge of the mammalian diving reflex and how to initiate the best response for Freediving.

You will learn new advanced equalisation techniques, free fall- which is where the magic happens!  Also apnea training methods to carry you past 60 ft. (20 meters) and develop the skills necessary to freedive to depths of up to 90 ft. (30 meters.)

You will receive a certification from SSI.

Day 1 in the pool and classroom

Days 2 & 3 in open water with Porthkerris Dive Centre, some of this will be boat based for depth.

Each day starts at 9.00 am and you will be finished by around 4.30 pm. This time table may be subject to change due to weather, and we have a local quarry to use if it’s too windy for some of the diving.

Class SizesMinimum 2 people, maximum 4 people per instructor. We sometimes run bigger groups but we make sure to have more instructors so that you get plenty of time and attention- we keep the ratios of student to instructor low.
Minimum Age16 years old, prerequisite medical and liability release forms.
